after4o is a chat workspace built for people who miss the feel of classic 4o. The goal is simple: keep the warm, collaborative rhythm people loved, while giving you explicit access to 4-series model modes, files, vision, search, memory, and a more controllable product layer.
No — we're completely independent. after4o is a separate product built by a team that loved what 4o made possible and decided to carry it forward. We have no affiliation with OpenAI.
after4o is built around the 4-series experience. The live product focus is GPT-4o and GPT-4.1 first. GPT-4 and GPT-4o mini can be added later as separate routed options when the economics and model availability make sense.
Create an account, pick a plan, and open the dashboard. From there you can chat, upload files or images, turn search on when you need current answers, and tune the assistant with memory, personas, and custom instructions.
Plans are monthly and usage-capped. Lite includes chat, files, vision, memory, voice, canvas, and limited search. Plus adds image generation and more weekly room. Pro raises the chat caps again and unlocks the highest image allowance.
They solve different problems. The 5-hour window prevents burst abuse. The weekly cap keeps the subscription economics stable over time. Search and image generation are capped separately so one expensive feature does not quietly eat the whole plan.

Text chat, image upload and understanding, file upload, search, memory, personas, browser voice input, and canvas are all part of the workspace. Image generation is available on paid tiers that include image credits.
Yes. Studio drafts save and can be reloaded or deleted whenever you like. Pick up exactly where you left off — no lost work, no starting over.

No. Search is available as a tool, but it is usage-limited and can be toggled on when you actually need fresh information. That keeps answers cleaner and protects plan margins.
Yes. That is one of the main use cases. The product is meant to feel human and collaborative without becoming vague or overly casual, so it works for writing, ideation, support, operations, and research tasks.
In most cases, yes — but it depends on the model your generation ran through and the laws in your jurisdiction. Before publishing commercially, review your usage policy, likeness risk, and brand safety. We'd rather you're protected than surprised.
The product is built to survive model churn. The assistant feel is defined at the product layer as much as the raw model layer, so if one provider shifts, the goal is to preserve the experience rather than force users to start over.
You need to be logged in with an active plan. That keeps the request board useful rather than noisy. Each user can submit one request every 30 days, and you can upvote anything already on the board.
